New Article Directory Offers Consumer Advice

HowToBuyStuff.org, a new focused article directory, provides consumers with purchasing advice and information.

DENVER, February 3, 2009 -- Whether you are shopping online or in brick-and-mortar stores, there is one common factor: Every retailer wants your money, and many will stop at nothing to get it.  With manipulating advertising and other questionable tactics, deciding what to buy and where to buy it can be an overwhelming decision.

HowToBuyStuff.org is attempting to make these sorts of decisions easier for consumers.  The new article directory publishes articles on a wide variety of topics, with one common theme: advice for consumers about how and where to spend their money.

“It’s always a good idea to do a little research before you make a purchase, especially a large purchase,” says Jason Keeley, owner of HowToBuyStuff.org.  “Our website makes this research easier by putting all of the information in one place.”

Articles are grouped by category, putting the information literally at the click of a mouse -- no sifting through articles in order to find what you are looking for.  Categories include frequently searched topics such as food and drink, fitness and diet, dating, pets, and parenting.

“A lot of debt and buyer’s remorse can be avoided by eliminating unnecessary or ill-informed purchases,” Keeley says.  “Often all that is needed is a quick search for information online, but many consumers don’t know what to look for.  Our goal is to make sure they just have to know one thing -- our website address.”

HowToBuyStuff.org also offers an opportunity for writers and product reviewers.  The article directory publishes articles in exchange for 50 percent of the advertising revenue.

“There is a lot of opportunity here, for writers as well as for consumers,” Keeley says.  “We want our writers to be happy so that they will continue to contribute.”
